Smiles For Gemma
Our beautiful Gemma deserves the world, but for now, we’ll settle for seeing her smile.
Gemma is a 39 year old and mum to Finley and Rosie. Gemma has been living with bowel cancer since 2019. The past 2 years have been incredibly tough for Gemma. Major life changing surgeries, chemotherapy, many trips to A&E for bowel blockages and infections, all which have often left her too weak to walk. She has also had to give up the job she loves as a reception teacher.
The financial impact of a cancer diagnosis cannot be underestimated. Four in five cancer patients are hit with an average cost of £570 a month as a result of their illness, according to research by Macmillan Cancer Support.
Together, we can reduce the financial pressure on Gemma and her family. Her biggest wish is to get back to her native Guernsey to spend time with her Mum and make beautiful memories with her gorgeous children.
Gemma has recently been given the news that her current line of chemotherapy has not stopped progression of her cancer. We want to help Gemma and her family in this way, so that she has one less thing to worry about. She can then concentrate on getting strong enough for the next phase of her treatment.
