The members of The Smile Foundation are committed to providing dental care and education to those with limited resources on the island of Isla Mujeres, Mexico. We work to relieve immediate pain, life-threatening infections and thereby restore smiles. We teach skills which promote better oral hygiene and encourage patients to become guardians of their own dental health care. We include local dentists in our project in order to be assured that our work will continue after we have left. With this mission we hope to promote peace and understanding among nations by serving one another.
The Smile Foundation has been making a difference in Isla Mujeres since 2008. We are committed to helping and serving all that we physically can in the 6 days our team is in Isla. This year, we are hoping to go the extra mile and bring equipment from the US down with us, but it costs us quite a bit more than we can afford.
