Smile Challenge for PPE

Ready, set, smile! Can you meet our challenge? In this year of uncertainty, we can all use a smile! And a smile that helps us provide free dental care to those in need will make more smiles. We sense a theme here!
THE CHALLENGE: Donate $32 (one dollar for each pearly white) in the name of someone who has made you smile when you needed it the most this year. Then challenge that person to do the same. Let’s make a chain of smiles around the world and raise funds for PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the DVI Dental Clinic!
The Dental Volunteers for Israel (DVI) Clinic in Jerusalem provides free dental care and oral health education to underserved, special needs and at-risk youth ages 4-26. It also provides free dentures to needy seniors and Holocaust survivors. The work of the clinic is life-changing for many who can't afford to get treatment. Each year, over 2,700 children and young adults receive free dental care, and over 100 seniors, half of them Holocaust survivors, receive free dentures at DVI thanks to support from our generous donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors, and our wonderful dentist volunteers from around the world.
The clinic has remained open during the COVID-19 pandemic to meet the needs of its patients, but expenses have increased due to the amount of additional PPE they have had to purchase. We need your help, and your smiles, to ease this temporary burden on the clinic.
TAKE THE CHALLENGE! Shout out someone who made you smile this year; a family member, a friend, a colleague, your dentist, a celebrity, an essential worker, a first-responder, a mentor…anyone. Then, challenge them to do the same. Each $32 (or more) gift goes a long way to help those who need us most, especially in this tough time.

Through fundraising and volunteer recruitment efforts in the U.S., AFDVI supports the work of Dental Volunteers for Israel (DVI) Trudi Birger Clinic, which provides free dental care and oral health education to Jerusalem's underprivileged regardless of racial, ethnic, or religious background.
