Sluder Covid Recovery and Funeral Expenses

Donation protected
The Sluder family has unexpectedly acquired 3 hospital bills and an unexpected funeral expense. I would like to give them support and one less worry, so they can focus on their health and mourning. My name is Holly Bailey and I am the daughter of Mike and Nancy Sluder, and the granddaughter of Bill and Josie Sluder. All donations will be going directly to medical and funeral expenses.

Early in November 2021 the Sluder family was diagnosed with Covid 19. It effected Mike and Nancy Sluder who were diagnosed November 12th, and Mike's parents, Bill and Josie Sluder who were diagnosed 3 days later on November 15th. This started the long road of recovery and unfortunately resulted in the loss of a vital part of our family, Bill.

Bill, known as Paw, was hospitalized the day he was diagnosed and had dangerously low oxygen levels, high heart rate, and was severely dehydrated. Through prayers and his own determination and strength, Paw was an inspiration and encouragement to doctors, nurses, and all that knew him. For the next 11 days he beat all odds. At the age of 82, with the most perplexing virus known to modern medicine, he progressed every single day. Unfortunately, the pneumonia caused by Covid, damaged his lungs beyond recovery. Paw then made his own decision to start his journey across Jordan. We respected and supported his decision by standing by his side, holding his hand, and helping him cross the waters to his Lord's arms on November 26th.

Mike, my dad, was the second to be hospitalized. He was admitted a week after diagnosis on the 19th. His oxygen had dropped critically low. He spent 6 days in the hospital before taking a bad turn and being moved to the ICU for high flow oxygen. Dad is currently still recovering in the ICU and under the prayers of many.

Josie, known as Maw, was hospitalized November 23rd. Maws oxygen had dropped and her strength was not returning despite her best efforts to eat and stay hydrated. She has made great progress but is still currently in the hospital. She has been mourning the loss of her husband of 62 years, and trying her best to still be a mother from 7 floors away to her only son. We hope to bring her home soon so we can wrap her in love and support.

Nancy, my mom, was able to avoid the hospital and was able to recover at home. We credit early treatment, antibodies, and lots of prayers and determination to her recovery. Her strength has not returned in full, but we are thankful that she has been able to heal outside the hospital walls.

Our family has been blessed with an amazing support system. We have been enveloped by countless prayers and are immensely grateful for all of our friends, family, and loved ones.
