Slippers For Mom is a charity whose mission is to give comfort to those in need during the holiday season by providing a cozy pair of slippers.
Slippers For Mom was founded in 2013 to honor the memory of Marianne Taylor who passed away from Ovarian Cancer at the young age of 56. We had an annual tradition with our mom... each year we bought her a new pair of slippers for Christmas morning. She always knew which box it was under the tree and opened it first so she could wear her new slippers on Christmas morning. The old ones, while cherished, were retired and the new ones worn with pride. The first year after Mari passed away our family struggled not having anyone to buy a pair of slippers for and thus Slippers For Mom was created.
Slippers For Mom is in its 5th year collecting slippers. Slippers are donated to shelters in the Detroit, MI and Lansing, MI areas. Go to www.slippersformom.org to see a list of the organizations the slippers are donated to.
$10-$20 purchases a pair of slippers. Our goal is to donate 500 pairs of slippers this holiday season. All proceeds will be used to purchase slippers. Deliveries will take place on Friday, December 8th, 2017.
