Sleigh2Give 2019

Sleigh2Give  is part of a festive appeal created by Play2Give. Play2Give  is an  Oxfordshire fundraising organisation founded in 2007 by Andrew Baker BCAv from Didcot. Play2Give raises money and organises events all year round for a number of local charities with events including a Summer Fayre, talent show, football tournaments and glitzy balls.

Sleigh2Give, devised as a small one-off idea in 2015, is its annual Christmas campaign which spreads cheer joy and smiles to children, families and people less fortunate over the Christmas period through the generosity of gifts donated by the local and wider community.

Play2Give in 12 years has now raised and donated over £165,000 to many local charities and of this around £70,000 estimated to have been raised through the value of presents over the past four years.
Sleigh2Give like Play2Give continues to grow and grow year on year and for 2019 is expanding on the number of beneficiaries who will benefit from the generosity of individuals, companies, businesses and groups who will donate gifts.

Play2Give was born out of an idea originally of a single football tournament for charity and inspired by the childhood treatment Andy had experienced and received. Raising funds was Andy's way to repay the Oxford medics for his gift of life twice over, after undergoing brain surgery aged 12 and being born with a brain injury.  In 2017 Andy received a prestigious British Citizen Award at the House of Lords and was invited to Her Majesty The Queen's Garden Party in June 2018 in recognition of his tireless charitable work.

www.play2give.org.uk/sleigh2give  was devised in 2015 initially from a supermarket worker who, with Andy, collected donations of two sacksful of toys to deliver to the wards of the Oxford Children's Hospital whilst undertaking a 19-mile walk dressed as Santa to raise money, and alias Sleigh2Give took off.

In 2018 the largest ever present collection was seen with around £30k worth of gifts distributed out to young patients in hospital, neonatl areas at the John Radcliffe, young carers in South Oxfordshire, a local food bank and to families less well off in Didcot.

This year for 2019 we add many more beneficiaries to the list alongside Oxford Children's Hospital including Headway Oxfordshire, Ronald McDonald House, Footsteps, Home-Start Southern Oxfordshire, Footsteps and the full list of which can be found at www.play2give.org.uk/sleigh2give-2019

We really appreciate all donations received and funds received online thanks to your generosity will be used to purchase toys and presents as part of this year's collection.

We already have many sponsors and supporters as well as several donation zones. Thanks to particular yearly sponsors, Changing Lives, Go Green Taxis and Class Act Teaching Services.

For more information on our Christmas gift campaign this year, or how to support as a donation point or as an official supporter or how to support Play2Give generally across the year, check out www.play2give.org.uk  or our social media outlets.

Thank you,
Play2Give xxx
