Hi friends!
I am starting a GoFundMe account for my brother, Adam Lucas. He was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2011 and has been having multiple seizures in increasing measure since. This past Thanksgiving, my brother started having them at 4am in the morning and continued to have them all day until we admitted him to the hospital that night, and in February he had another hospital admission due to more seizures. With this disorder, it is incredibly hard for him to live a normal life. He has seized while driving, while in the shower, while at work. He has completely trashed his tongue multiple times from biting it while seizing and has hit his head while falling. Myself and his family are so fearful of it leading to his death. He has seen multiple doctors and has been on a ton of medication, but nothing has seemed to help.
Recently, his doctors think that with a 5-day sleep study they will be able to pinpoint where the seizures are coming from and think they can help him. After insurance coverage, the bill is 3,000 dollars, but at this point after all his hospital admissions he is completely in debt.
I am trying to raise the 3,000 dollars so he can get the study. If there is anything you can do to help, Adam, myself and my entire family would be so incredibly grateful.
