Sleep in Peace Mom

Donation protected
My Mother, Catherine Mommens went into the hospital on December 31, 2017 and passed on January 12, 2018. My mother was an amazing, kind person and anyone that ever knew her loved her.
We knew she was suffering from Dementia but we did not know the type of Dementia, we found out it was Vascular Dementia which was causing unnoticeable mini-strokes.I noticed my mother very unsteady in the house and I took her to the ER, where the roller coaster began.  This began 13 restless days of what felt like torture.
Every test under the sun was done on her, her blood work looked good, no UTI, lumbar puncture showed nothing.....
They felt it was time to discharge her to the rehab/nursing facility, and I explained my concerns to them and left my Mom in their care. In the middle of the night I received a call that she fell, hit her head and is going back to the hospital. There was some swelling in the brain from the fall.  Next night, she began to have trouble breathing and was intubated,  a few more days of tests and wondering and lots of talks with Doctors, Mom was moved into Hospice care on January 11th at 10pm, where she peacefully passed in her sleep in the middle of the night, January 12th.
In all of this mess, I found that she had no life insurance or burial ground. Also now having to rush my brother up to CT from Texas. We can only do so much with what we have, so we are looking for help to put this beautiful woman to rest!
