Skydive for survivors!

Hi, I'm Claudia, and I'm going to be jumping out of a plane with my friend, Mike, to raise money for animals that urgently need our help! I'll be skydiving with Skydive Buzz from 15,000 ft on the 28th of August, and I am choosing to support the following organisations.

MoonAcre Sanctuary and No Dogs Left Behind are two incredible organisations that give voiceless animals another chance at life by rescuing and rehabilitating them and providing a secure future to all who enter their gates. The funds raised in this fundraiser will be split evenly between them.

 

I spent three months at MoonAcre in 2020, helping to care for their dogs and joining them on rescue missions in Cyprus and Greece, so I've seen the life-changing work they do with my own eyes. Their ability to restore mobility to disabled animals is unique and inspiring, but it isn't easy. They receive dogs with neurological issues, paralysis and other physical disabilities that otherwise wouldn't stand a chance, and they take the time to restore their quality of life. It could be with physiotherapy for stroke and epilepsy victims or a set of wheels for the dogs with physical disabilities; everybody is assessed and treated accordingly. My family have adopted two dogs from them, one of which was rescued when I first arrived at the sanctuary, and they came to us healthy and with all issues under control. Seeing Marco's transformation from a sick and terrified puppy to a thriving family dog just shows how dedicated the team at MoonAcre is! They also have a herd of rescued horses who live a comfortable life at the sanctuary as well as cats and other animals that have been helped by these generous people. No Dogs Left Behind is a US-based charity committed to ending the cruel dog meat trade in Asia. The team intercepts traffickers and illegal dealers that trade the dogs on their way to the slaughterhouses. Some dogs are picked off the streets, and some are stolen pets. They are crammed into chicken cages and transported to slaughter, where they are bound with wire and tortured before being inhumanely slaughtered (please see their website for more graphic details that I did not want to include here due to the upsetting nature). The team also provide emergency medical care to all those rescued, where they are then assessed and transported to one of three shelters to be rehabilitated and shown human love, some for the very first time. Each and every dog matters and without our help, No Dogs Left Behind wouldn't be able to continue its essential work of advocating for slaughterhouses and illegal trading to be shut down and ending the horrific torture these animals endure.
