Skylar Hammond Medical Fund

This is to raise money for Skylar Hammond who has recently developed a so far undiagnosed epilectic seizure condition.

On May 11, 2021 Skylar was on her first ever field trip with her school in Alma, Nebraska to the Stuhr Museum in Grand Island, Nebraska when she experienced her first seizure, was unresponsive and had to be airlifted 150 miles away to Children's Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. At first the doctors were not quite sure what exactly happened, if it was a seizure or a fainting episode. Some thought a Choroid cyst in her brain had shifted and caused the seizure.

Then on June 4, 2021 Skylar experienced her second seizure at home in Naponee, Nebraska the night after returning from visiting family in Chicago, Illions and was rushed to the hospital in Alma. The initial seizure was an absence seizure that was then followed by several secondary generalized seizures. After again being airlifted 230 miles to Children's Hospital the EEG showed that the initial seizure was located in the occipital lobe of her brain.

This money will be given to her mother Brittany Hammond and is to be spent for the immediate relocation of Skylar to someplace near Children's Hospital in Omaha where her case is being handled so it won't take her hours to get to where she needs to be in case of another seizure, as well as having the doctors being able to run tests sooner to have a better understading of what exactly is happening with Skylar. It will also go towards any type of medical expenses or medication that may not be covered by insurance, including possibly taking her to get second opinions wherever necessary. With all the added information from the second seizure we hope to have a full diagnosis soon and will update this campaign as soon more is known.
