Skunk in home-insurance won't cover

I am setting this up for my brother.  A week ago a live skunk entered his house.  Everything is ruined.  At first we thought it would be OK.  He has over $500,000 in structural insurance and over $300,000 in contents with Nationwide Insurance.  The insurance company is denying the claim.  So this weekend, his family of 4 officially moved out of his house (that is not livable as the smell will not go away).  Today (Monday) he is meeting with an attorney that specializes in this.  That said, until the law suit is over, everything is coming out of pocket.  That includes, but not limited to, clothing, food, bookbags, shoes, attorney fees.  I know I spent $500 at Walmart for him and all I got was enough to get through the next day.  I come from a family that believes in taking care of each other, but we can not continue doing it alone.  Anyone who considers helping is wonderful.  If you can not help, but at least thought about it, we apprecitate it.  I never realized how much food we have that is not a weekly expense.  But when you have to replace every condiment, it starts to add up fast.
