McClure Vasa Previa Journey

Donation protected
Mindy has recently been hospitalized for constant monitoring of her baby girl. Her rare condition, vasa previa (where the umbilical cord or blood vessels cross at the opening of the cervix), is complicated by the fact she has no measurable cervix and the baby's umbilical cord is also exposed at her cervix, also called velamentous cord insertion. Due to the coiling of the umbilical cord at the cervix, the exposed umbilical cord, and her cervix funneling (opening from the uterus side), it has become a dangerous situation for her and the baby. She is currently at 28 weeks and has undergone 2 rounds of steroids to help develop the babies lungs for an early delivery. Her doctors do not want her to go into labor because it could cause the exposed blood vessels to rupture thus cutting off oxygen and blood supply to the baby. Mindy is on hospitalized bed rest as every hour/every day the baby can develop is one less day in the NICU. Her doctors are making decisions daily regarding a plan to continue carrying or when to take the baby for best survival rates.Mindy will be hospitalized until the baby arrives, and the baby will be in the NICU for an undetermined amount of time. All donations are appreciated to help offset the medical expenses for Mindy, and baby.Along with helping with travel expenses to and from the hospital for her husband Mitch! Please share and pray for this family!
