Duck, aka Skot Thomas, passed away on 1/5/24. after a fall down a long flight of stairs in late 2023, followed by catching COVID and pneumonia, and deciding with his doctors to end his struggle today.
We could give you details, where he was born, where he went to school, but that's just biography. That's not the important stuff. What was important was his passion, and there were some many people and things he was passionate about.
First and foremost, of course, was his family. His daughters Kerry and Alora, and his brother Matty, obviously, but his friends were also family. And he had so many, many friends, way too many to list.
His other really big passion was music. Especially Depeche Mode, but he was, in his own words, a notorious pop-slut, enjoying Brittney Spears as much as the Clash. If it moved him, he could enjoy it, one way or the other. When I personally met him, it was at a haunted house he was working in, where a mutual friend introduced him in the final room, dressed as a grim reaper of sorts, to the strains of the Doors song "The End." He would listen to Pink Floyd, Erasure, The Vandals, SCorpions, pretty much anything with a sense of joy, no matter what.
Unfortunately, Duck passed away without any savings, leaving it to his daughters, Kerry and Alora, to shoulder the burden of his final disposition. Any monies received will go to them, to cover the final costs, with any remainder to be used by them as needed for his memory.
