Sarah Kelly Music School
Hello, this is Michele Flory from The Woodlands, TX. I am reaching out on behalf of my good friends Jonas and Sarah Ekman (AKA: Sarah Kelly). After Harvey hit them so hard, I found myself thinking….someone needs to help them. Then I thought, “WHY NOT ME?”
They experienced flooding from Harvey into two homes they own; and did not have flood insurance, as their area was supposed to be low risk for flooding. FEMA does not cover secondary houses, so they are on their own. Jonas and Sarah own a music school in The Woodlands to provide young aspiring artists a platform to launch their music careers. They help these students write songs, provide voice instruction, and guidance in producing their music. In 2017, they have had 16 students on the Grammy ballot.
They purchased these two homes to house various students who were coming from other countries or just needing somewhere to live while getting their musical careers started. They have also leased the homes to anyone in need, mainly from their school. Please help them rebuild; the Ekmans have housed over 40 students over the past few years….these homes have had many songs created within their walls!
Most importantly, we want Jonas and Sarah to know that they are not alone in this. They could have bought a bigger house for themselves, but instead bought 2 to help others. Let’s help them REBUILD what was taken in the flood. The damage is estimated at about $70k. Let’s stand behind them in this dark season in their life and watch the restoration begin! Every penny will go straight from gofundme to the Ekmans and be used to rebuild these two houses (sheetrock, kitchen cabinets, floors, doors etc).
