On February 1st, three individuals will embark on an incredible journey. A mission. A dream. They are opening a Playhouse.
Vincenzo Carubia, founder of Skiptown Productions, LLC has partnered with Michelle Parks, and Anny Taormina of Young Fresh and Shameless to bring a fun new platform for talents of all ages to perform and learn. Oh and of course .. DRESS LIKE A BOSS!
Located in East Hollywood, this space will be utilized to not only entertain, but also to educate and help new and emerging artists feel a part of a community, and a sense of direction in the quick world of entertainment.
Skiptown Playhouse has already started to make moves before it even opens it's doors. The support system from friends and fellow artists has been tremendous. That is what theater is really all about. The community and finding a place to call home.
At this time, we are looking for start up funds to help us get the ball rolling. Any bit will help.
Funds will go towards a Popcorn Machine, Website, Concession costs, Business start up, Insurance, and other overhead costs like supplies, headsets, security measures etc.
Our Stage will be available for Film shoots, Original Plays, Stand up comedy, Burlesque, Open Mic, FREE FILM SCREENINGS, Improv Comedy and so forth. We already have some shows BOOKED for February which is SO EXCITING!!
Our goal is to have the funds by January 29th so we can open the doors to the public and kick it off with a FREE OPENING RECEPTION for everyone to enjoy.
Those who donate and contribute to the opening of the Skiptown Playhouse, will have their names placed on the wall for everyone who enters to see. You are the beginning for us. You are the ones who will make this all possible. For that we are entirely grateful. IN THE NAME OF ART!
