Skip's Memory Care Fund

Please help us help Skip Williford and his family. Skip was born and raised in Jasper, TX, where he and his wife Jan met in elementary school. They've been dating since Jr. High - and were married at the age of 17. They have 4 children and 15 grandchildren! Skip and Jan have made the Allen/McKinney area their home for the past 30 years and all 4 of their kids are graduates of Allen High School.

Their extended family and friends are working hard to help them raise funds for Skip, who unfortunately was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease - at the age of 59. The family has been working diligently to care for him - since his original diagnosis 5 years ago.

Our goal is to raise $80,000 to help fund the upcoming expenses for the next few years of Skip's care.

His wife Jan has been a tireless servant. She has served her family well in doing everything she can to care for Skip over the past 5 years in every way she can. She has been a constant support, encouragement and care giver to Skip - truly fulfilling her marriage vows "to have and to hold, in sickness and in health...til death do us part".

Skip has been a faithful servant to so many in Collin County, since 1997 - as "the AC Man" with his company, Williford AC & Heating, where he ran a very successful business. It was truly a mom & pop operation. Jan ran the office and Skip ran the service calls! Of course - with the diagnosis - they lost the business and have been on a modest Social Security disability benefit for the past 5 years and have been living with their oldest son and his family in Plano.

Unfortunately - where Jan and the family has been able to care for him at home - they are now at a point where some difficult decisions had to be made, so that he can receive the best care possible. After a lot of prayer and searching, they have found a memory care facility with an amazing staff that will be able to provide quality care for Skip during this next phase of their journey as a family.

Now - Skip and his family needs us... his family, friends and supporters to help them ease some major financial burdens during this next chapter of life together!

Skip has steadily progressed downwards and now struggles to do so many basic activities of the day. It has also become increasingly apparent that Skip will benefit greatly by having the care of trained nurses and care givers. For his continued care, safety, and dignity - this move is very necessary!

Every little bit helps and every donation is greatly appreciated. Not only will you be contributing to Jan’s life you will be helping Skip move on with his life. Giving them the opportunity to enjoy the last years together in a supporting and caring environment.

The plans are to make the move at the beginning of September and so we are working on a deadline. It would be such a blessing if you could make a donation to help ease the financial pressures Jan is facing.
