Many of you know Skip & Terri Pudney. They are now some of the many victims of the flooding in Texas due to Hurricane Harvey. As of this writing, Orange, Texas has received 43.82" of rain (per Jim Cantore of the Weather Channel).
I'm a former co-worker of Terri's from when they lived in Wilmington, NC. Skip is a long time friend too. He's an awesome photographer and has taught me a lot over the years. We have all had fun hanging out, camping, shooting, going to the mountains, kayaking and such. We miss them since they moved to Texas... but we're still here for them. Go Fund Me wants me to tell you all about our relationships to help prevent fraud. I can understand that too.
Skip and Terri are now without electricity or any way to get out right now. At last check, they had about a foot of water inside their house and higher in the garage. They're not sure of the condition of their cars now, but they think the water is above to floorboards.
Just got a text from Terri saying they are evacuating as they are going to open a dams upstream from them, that could make the water rise even more. They are evacuating to a shelter now (as of 2:15pm Wednesday 8/30).
Terri was going to wade through chest deep water today to cross the street to seek higher ground in the neighbors second story house... with Zoe the dog. These plans have now changed due to evacuation.
Unfortunately, they don't have flood insurance as their neighborhood has never flooded.... and they would be too shy to ask for help. So, we're setting up this GoFundMe page to do what we can to help them directly.
I know we personally have benefitted from their help for our family in the past, they're just good people. It's time to help these fine folks get back on their feet as quickly as possible.

This is their living room under water (above). I can't even imagine... They were running around trying to put things up on high shelves, not knowing how high the water will get... it's still rising.

This is the view out of their house. Skip is shy about posting pictures, I'll try and get more up soon.
Please do what you can to help. I will personally make sure that they get your donations directly. It's too early to tell you exactly what your donations will be used for, but I image it will go to food and shelter to start.
