Skip Brown Cancer Surgery/Recovery
Donation protected
15 years ago at the age of 24, my cousin, Skip, was diagnosed with stage 4 squamous-cell carcinoma (oral cancer) in his mouth, despite never having smoked or chewed. He underwent a very extensive surgery, with grueling chemo & radiation treatments. Since then, he has had a clean bill of health.
A couple of weeks ago, he started experiencing some of the same issues that started his cancer journey 15 years ago.
Following a recent biopsy, the doctor did confirm that the same kind of cancer has returned on the opposite side of his mouth.
There are several positives to this situation:
- The tumor is significantly smaller than last time
- It is a much earlier stage than last time (Stage 2)
- He is being treated by the doctors who took care of him 15 years ago
- The doctors are being very proactive & aggressive in getting this taken care of as quickly as possible
He will have to have surgery, similar to what he had last time, but on a smaller scale. Surgery is scheduled for August 23rd.
Our goal is $20,000, so that we can make sure everything is covered that Skip, Sarah & their 2 kids will need, removing that stress from Sarah, so they can focus on Skip getting back to 100%.
Whatever you are able to give will go directly to help cover medical expenses not covered by insurance & to help with regular monthly expenses during Skip’s time off work, as well as to cover any time Sarah will need to take off to take care of Skip.
Please share this on your Facebook page or direct them to www.gofundme.com & search for “Skip Brown Cancer Surgery/Recovery”.
Thank you for supporting my family as we get Skip back to full health.
