STORY:
I first met Manuel about 16 years ago. He is our gardener. I remember watching him saunter past our kitchen window, a weed whacker slung over his right shoulder, whistling a tune. Manuel's perpetual positive attitude is something I greatly admire. Over the decades, I've come to know him as a very loving husband and father to 3 school-age boys, always ready to greet everyone with a hearty 'hello!' and maybe even a hug. His integrity and dedication to his work is obvious to all who knows him.
Now, after almost 30 years of serving my family and extended family, he is in need of much financial help. He has been recently diagnosed with colon cancer, and because he is undocumented, he cannot afford the medical care. It is because of his undocumented status that I am not posting his photo.
I am reaching out to everyone I know in order to help this wonderful man. If you or anyone you know are able and willing to pitch in, it would very much be appreciated. The cost of treating cancer is astronomical, with colon cancer being around $50,000 and he will need to begin treatment immediately.
