Skeeter's Liver Transplant

This is our beloved son/husband/father David Morris, aka Skeeter. He is sitting in the University of Washington Medical Center awaiting a liver transplant. This was a very sudden event that has taken us all by surprise. He went to see a doctor about jaundice and within 36 hours was medivaced from Anchorage to Seattle in severe liver failure. 

The great staff at UWMC have rushed him through the pre- transplant work- up and are keeping him alive with daily dialysis to keep his kidneys working, as well as constant monitoring of his blood levels. His MELD level is a 42 (!) which places him at the top of the transplant list. We are prayerfully waiting for the gift of a donor liver. The need is urgent.

We are very lucky to have insurance and benefits through our union, but living expenses are not covered. We are required to live in Seattle while we wait for the transplant and for the three months of recovery afterwards. 

All donations would be used for us to stay at Transplant House and for incidental expenses associated with getting to and from treatment and doctor's visits. All donations, no matter how small are greatly appreciated. 

We would also ask for your prayers, positive thoughts and good vibes while we navigate these confusing and scary waters. For those of you who pray please be in prayerful agreement that we will find grace and favor with the insurance company. Also lift up the wonderful medical staff at UWMC, that they would exercise great discernment and skill during his treatment, surgery and recovery. 

Those of you who know Skeeter, know that he is a generous and compassionate individual. He is greatly loved by his friends and family, and we would be lost without him. Please help us keep him around for awhile longer (or a lot longer!).
