Student Field Trip to Washington DC

Donation protected
Our Washington, D.C. field trip was perfect! Thank you, friends and family for making this happen. Our bus left promptly at 7:00 am because students (many taking public transit) arrived to school as early as 6:00 am. From the luxurious bus, to the expereinced tour guide who explained the importance of the impressive memorials and buildings, to the unforgettable expereince of the Holocaust Museum, to the much-anticapted sandwiches from Potbelly's, Liguori Academy students made us all proud!

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." These words of Edmund Burke are the cornerstone of every lesson taught in my writing class this year. After studying WWII and conveying the belief that we are thinking beings capable of changing our world, I wanted to bring my students to Washington, DC, to instill pride in our country, to reinforce the importance of freedoms granted by our Constition, and to convey the atrocities of the Holocaust.

Many Liguori Academy students may never have the opportunity to visit Washington, DC, unless it is planned through a school trip. We are scheduled for March 6th, just a few days away!

The inequalities of our educational system deny students oportunities. The area high school has a 52% graduation rate. Liguori Academy is trying to change this harrowing  statistic.

The opportunity to experience the world outside of Kensington by visiting our nation's capital will be unforgettable for Liguori Academy students.
