Our aim is to ensure all workshops are cost free for participants as we believe in eliminating barriers and making our service accessible for all who need it.
Faced with the impacts of COVID 19 we know our young people need our services more than ever. Therefore, we need your help to raise funds to support them.
We want to offer our Discovering Me Workshops virtually. We recognise the mental challenge caused by COVID 19. This combined with the consistent questioning of identity and trauma on display on all media platforms is having a large negative impact on our young Black and Mixed heritage youth. We want to provide creative spaces virtually for these young people to feel empowered, to be seen, heard and valued.
We want to deliver our creative and therapeutic workshops which aim to help young Black and Mixed heritage youth to explore their history and heritage, discover their own inner empowerment and embrace who they are as they are! The workshops have been designed and will be delivered by our partners Bello Mind and Soul and The Knowledge Room.
Funds will go towards the cost of coordinating and delivery of three of our Discovering Me workshops. The funds will also go towards the purchase of materials which will be posted out to participants to use both during the sessions and afterwards, to ensure that they can continue with their creative journey. Empower My Voice Ltd is a Derby founded not for profit organisation. It was founded with the mission to ensure young people within our communities feel valued, seen and heard. We do this by providing the space to explore identity and instil confidence and resilience as we endeavour to empower the marginalised voices of our young people.
