Azy/Aaron Home Improvement Comedy Project

WE MADE IT! You guys helped us get to our goal! We've added our 1st stretch goal of $2000. Every cent goes towards making this sizzle reel the most amazing project it can be. Thank you again!

We're raising funds for a sizzle reel for our home improvement (a la HGTV, DIY Network) show, tentatively titled "Crack Up Construction with Azy and Aaron!" Azy Kashani is a DIY expert who loves to get her hands dirty and try new things. Aaron Chewning is the black sheep of a long lineage of carpenters who decided to go into comedy instead. Together, they will help show you how to fix those nagging problems you have around the house for almost no cost at all!

100% of funds raised here go towards the sizzle reel/promo video for the show. It will help cover food, travel, and construction material for the sizzle which we can then use to take to networks to sell. Contributions to our 2017 campaign for our series "More Than a Game" resulted in the show being picked up by streaming service You42, so your help directly makes a difference!

Perks:

$1 (and up) - Our eternal appreciation and love!

$5 - Digital shout out! We'll thank you on social media, like a virtual hug.

$20 (and up) - Get a shout out on Atlanta Film Chat, the #1 podcast for the Atlanta film scene!

(These have all been snatched up, sorry!) $50 - Azy will thank you in your own personalized video!

$250 - Have your own home project you can't quite figure out? Give $250 and Azy will give you professional advice over the phone to help you out! Limit 5.

$500 - You must really love us! To show our appreciation, come visit the set of Crack Up Construction if (and when) we get picked up by a network! Limit 2. Prize dependent on the show getting picked up.

$1000 - You become an Associate Producer of the sizzle reel! Limit 1.

The team:

Azy Kashani is a Persian-American renovator, blogger and host.  She started her own Youtube page and blog, Dabblerella, where she shares her knowledge and dabbles including crafting and decorations, and soon to be renovations.  She was born and raised till the age of twelve in Chicago and moved around to many other locations around the country, but calls Atlanta home.  While her career background began in corporate America, she was introduced to interior design in her teens, and renovations in her twenties due to her father dabbling in flipping houses on the side for a while.  She found a true interest and calling in it, and assisted renovating and decorating spaces in several people’s homes throughout the years, and then began taking on part-time home renovations to help update homes before sale.  Her motto is that full-blown renovations are great, but they can be very overwhelming to your time, energy and budgets, and she’ll be sharing how a little DIY can go a long way.

Aaron Chewning is a New York-based comedic writer, director, and performer. His humor projects have been featured on CNN, GQ, ESPN radio, Bleacher Report, Relevant Magazine, Yahoo! Sports, FOX, and NBC. He is formally trained in film production, but he spends most of his time creating humorous content for clients. That includes commercials, jingles, sketches, and social media content. Brands like Twitter, AT&T, the Atlanta Braves, Jose Cuervo, Vine, NASCAR, Thrillist, CAFE, Catalyst Conference, Major League Soccer, Chick-Fil-A, BigStuf Camps, Fox Sports, North Point Ministries and the Atlanta Dream have all trusted him to take their humor-marketing to the next level. Aaron is also a performer, which has taken him to stand-up comedy venues around the country and to big-stage hosting gigs for 3,000+ people.

Hooty Hoo Productions is Dustin Jacobs and Charles Thomas. At Kennesaw State University, where the co-founders met, the rallying cry of The Owls is "Hooty Hoo!" Since the school was such a large part in the company's founding, it seemed a natural fit to include the cry in our name. Our goal is to tell interesting stories, no matter the medium. Whether it's a docu-series about the exciting world of eSports, an intimate comedy special featuring one of the funniest up and coming comedians in the country, or a romantic sci-fi indie drama feature film, we want to showcase the unique and unseen.
