Ba bhreá leis an gCoiste Tacaíochta ócáid tiomsaithe airgid a eagrú mar ba ghnáth leo gach bliain. Cabhraíonn an t-airgead leis an scoil chun rudaí fiúntacha a dhéanamh gach bliain. Anuraidh chabhraigh sé linn 16 iPad nua le tralaí a cheannach; 2 bhínse nua do pháistí a chur sa chlós; Córas Fuaime Nua don Halla; Aoichainteoir Catherine Hallissey a fháil ag an gCruinniú Chinnbhliana; Leabhair Léitheoireachta nua a cheannach don ranganna 7rl. Bhailíomar €13,000 anuraidh ar son na scoile ach ní bhfuaireamar aon seans é sin a dhéanamh i mbliana toisc Covid-19. 'Sé an t-aon seans atá againn chun ócáid tiomsaithe airgid a eagrú i mbliana ná an Siúlóid Scoile Uile Éireann. Níl aon ladhdú ar chostaisí na scoile is beidh dúshlán mór ann dúinn ag filleadh chun na scoile san fhómhair.
Ina theannta san tugtar deis do pháistí na scoile airgead a bhailiú do charthanachtaí a bheadh an-ghar dá gcroíthe go rialta. Is beag seans a fuaireadar chuige sin i mbliana. Iarrfar orthu cuid den bhailiúchán seo a bhronnadh ar na carthanachtaí seo.
Beimid ar siúl fad an chósta Uile Éireann i mbliana-3,171Km ar fad. Siúlfaidh gach clann 20km san iomlán (nó 5km an duine) i rith na seachtaine seo ó Aoine go Déardaoin. Leanfaimid ár Laocha Gael, Diarmuid agus Gráinne, agus iad ag tabhairt fén dturas céanna. Beidh scéalta roimh chodladh na hoíche acu dúinn gan lá ar www.gaelscoiluiriada.ie. Bígí linn!
An té a bhíonn siúlach bíonn sé scéalach!
The Parents Committee fund-raise every year and would love to be able to the same again this year. This money is vital to the running of the school and also enables the school to fund vital extra activities every year. Last year the school were able to purchase 16 new iPads and trolley; purchase two new buddy benches for the children's yard; Purchase a new mobile sound/PA system for the hall; invite guest speaker and child-psychologist Catherine Hallissey to address the parents at the AGM; fund the purchasing of new additional Readers for the middle standards. We raised €13,000 last year and hoped to repeat or exceed that this year. Unfortunately all of our fundraisers were stopped by Covid-19 this year. This Siúlóid Uile Éireann is our only chance to raise vital funds for this year. Please support us as generously as you can as the costs incurred by the school remain the same and we face a very challenging return to school next autumn.
Also our pupils were denied the opportunity to nominate and fundraise for charities which they normally do. Some of the funds raised will be donated to the charities close to the children's own hearts.
We are going to walk the entire length of the coast of Ireland this year-3171Km. Every family will walk a combined total of 20km (or 5km each) during the week from Friday to Thurdsay. We will follow our heroes, Diarmuid agus Gráinne, as they travel the long journey together around the whole coast of Ireland. Each evening there will be a Irish Legend before bedtime on our website www.gaelscoiluiriada.ie. Travel with us!
