Sis. Salima Johnson's Fight to Live

Salima Johnson is a dedicated Muslim, and mother to 6
children. After successfully battling breast cancer and going into remission for a number of years, earlier this fall, Salima found out that not only had her cancer returned and progressed to Stage 4 breast cancer but had unfortunately spread to her liver and other parts of her body. With this diagnosis, recognizing the Qadr of Allah and facing an exhaustive list of treatment options, Salima decided to pursue a natural course of treatment for her ailments this time around. With four of her children being underaged, the time that Salima has spent away from her family in the hospital has put a strain on resources available to her and resources that make everyday comforts possible for her family.

To assist in offsetting her rising medical costs and to establish a source of support for her children, we have decided to establish this fundraiser to help Salima live her life in the manner that she most sees fit: one filled with love and free of outside interventions that can harm just as much as they help.

These funds will also be used to establish a set of resources for end of life planning for Salima, should those realities need to be explored by her family.

We know that "verily, with every hardship comes ease," and "what is coming is better than what has gone before you;"  this campaign is designed to bring a small peace of mind despite the grim reality  that Salima is facing.

Please consider donating a gift or sharing this campaign with those who are able to support our efforts to assist Salima in the fight for her life and to leave her children in a stable financial position, should she be unsuccessful in her fight this time around.

This campaign is managed by her eldest daughter, Nalijah Abdul-Karim, who will ensure that all funds received go to support for Salima's medical costs and that leftover funds go to support for Salima's young children.

Abu Huraira reported:  The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him,said , "He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgement: he who makes easy what is difficult, Allah will make it easy  for him in the world and the Hereafter;  he who conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in the world and the Hereafter: Allah helps the servant so long as he helps his brother; ... { Sahih Muslim, Book 35, Number 6518 }
