Sis Got Tea: Black Brewed. Queer Approved.

Registered as a business in 2019, Sis Got Tea was created out of a love for tea and a need for a sober space for LGBTQ folks in Louisville, KY. Sis Got Tea, currently an online business, offers a unique, eclectic variety of teas, from earthy, to herbal, to downright sweet (some of their flavors include Apple Pie, Sweet Potato Pie, Aged Puerh, Plum Ripple, and Black Rose).

Since August 2019, Sis Got Tea has gained immense popularity and attention. From podcasts, to national news articles, to magazines, Sis Got Tea has received love, support, and motivation from all over the world. Because of this and the quality of their products, Sis Got Tea is available in multiple retail locations: Rainbow Blossom , Pocket Change , Lavender Hill Florals , and many more in the works. Sis Got Tea has also collaborated with multiple business and organizations, both locally and nationally, from book subscription boxes to bars offering mocktails using their tea.

The Next Step: A Physical Location
Sis Got Tea has been dreaming of a physical location since their conception. The ultimate goal is to have a brick-and-mortar where Sis Got Tea can be a safe, sober, accessible haven for LGBTQ folks. Sis Got Tea wants to offer meetings, events, other Black-owned business products (such as baked goods and self-care products).

Sis Got Tea has been searching for the best location, and they finally found one: 327 West Cardinal Boulevard, Louisville, KY...AKA: the old Quill's Coffee. They need to gather money to secure the space as soon as possible before it slips out of their grasp.

What They Need
Sis Got Tea needs funds to pay for the following:
- Lease fees and first few months of rent
- Hiring their first employees at a living wage
- Purchasing necessary equipment for production and day-to-day operations
- Renovation costs for the physical location

Every little bit helps. LGBTQ folks in Louisville, KY, needs a space like this -- safe, sober, accessible, and accommodating. They are looking forward to slinging tea, offering tasty baked goods, and hosting all kinds of events and meetings -- from sober drag nights, to clothing exchanges, to mentorship, to workshops, and more.
