With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sir Gray, long-time resident of Pawffee Shop, loyal protector and bro to Domino, greeter of many new kitties, frequent slapper of hands, and best of all: beloved furbaby. Sir Gray may have left this world, but he will forever remain in our hearts. ❤️‍ This special kitty will be missed by many- including visitors, staff, volunteers, Domino, and his loving owner and favorite human, Raven.

Raven adopted Sir Gray and Domino from us through our rescue partner, Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary, last year. The former strays had been kings of Pawffee Shop’s cat lounge for nearly 3 years total! (excluding time once adopted/returned due to unforeseen circumstances) Sir Gray did amazing in his new furever home with his buddy Domino at his side. He even turned into a total lap cat! He loved to curl up in bed next to his person, lay with Domino in the sunshine, co-exist with kitty roomie, Toffee, and would even run around with playful zoomies. ❤️ He was beyond loved and content in his home, unfortunately just not for as long as we could've hoped.

Vets suspect most likely he was struggling with an aggressive case of GI Lymphoma (cancer). He passed knowing how loved he is, and it’s safe to assume he’ll still be watching over Domino, just as he did for years, from across the rainbow bridge. ☁️ We hope that in his downtime he says hello to our past loved ones as well, perhaps sharing some of his many stories. He had an interesting life, from the streets with a little tuxedo kitten following him around, to a cat cafe, to a furever home.

Gray's passing was unexpected. We are asking anyone out there who can spare anything at all to chip in to help ease the burden of payment for ER services and memorial fees for his owner. We wish we could take the pain away from both Raven and Domino... the least we can do is try to lessen the sudden expenses during a financial hardship.
