Sip & Stride for a Cause

Donation protected

Sip? Stride? That's right! We're back and this time we are running for a cause.

Join us for Sip & Stride: a run club for fun-runners, race junkies, or avid beer connoisseurs (or all 3!). Lace up those shoes with us every Wednesday from a local brewery to get in those miles and smiles! Runs will be led by our ambassadors Arlene Armijo and Slade Jones.

This season we are supporting 3 local high school Cross Country teams: Highland High, West Mesa High, and Valley High. We are partnering with local breweries and Athlete's Edge to raise money to purchase training and racing shoes for each Cross Country athlete.  Each participating brewery will donate $1 for the first beer purchased during Sip & Stride.

Runs will be held ever Wednesday starting April 4th through September 26th.

Check-in starts at 6:45pm and each run begins at 7:00pm.

FAQ
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
You do not need to be 21 to attend and run with Sip & Stride. If you plan to stay at the brewery after the run you must be accompanied by a parent.

What can I bring into the event?
Make sure to bring a water bottle (water is available at the brewery), your sweaty gear (no need to change after...we'll sweat and drink together), your ID and your smile!

We will not have a place to store personal items while on the run so please leave valuables at home.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Have questions? Call lululemon athletica ABQ Uptown at [phone redacted]

Who are the participating breweries?
We will rotate weekly between Steel Bender Brewyard, Nob Hill Bar & Grill, High and Dry Brewing, and Bosque Brewing Company Nob Hill Public House.

Each location is donating $1 for the first beer purchased during Sip & Stride.

Nob Hill Bar & Grill will donate 10% of all food sales to our GoFundMe.

Who is Athlete's Edge?
Athlete's Edge is a locally-owned running, walking, and fitness specialty store. They are dedicated to helping the community achieve their fitness goals.

Jorge Otero, owner of Athlete's Edge, is partnering with us to raise money to purchase training and racing shoes for local high school Cross Country runners. He is supporting us with the shoes and will give each Cross Country runner an optional gait analysis when they come in to his store.

Where is the money going to?
The money is going to the Duke's Track Club and then will be used to purchase shoes at Athlete's Edge.

How did you identify these 3 high schools?
Coaches from low income high schools reached out to the Dukes Track Club requesting support of their athletes, which helped us identify these 3 high schools for our 2018 Sip & Stride.

What are you doing with the money if there is any left over?
If there is money that has not been used by purchasing shoes, the money will be distributed among the 3 high school teams to purchase food for the runners throughout the season.
