Dear Prospective Sponsor – It was only last fall when Sioux Falls was granted its first ever Little League Charter from Little League International in Williamsport, PA, the home of the Little League World Series. The community of Sioux Falls has long been overdue to offer Little League baseball to the kids within our community and we are thrilled that kids are now experiencing what Little League baseball is all about and setting the example for other kids to play Sioux Falls Little League Baseball in the future.
Our Sioux Falls Little League team has already exceeded most people’s expectations of them in only our first year of existence. After a successful Little League regular season this team of 11 and 12 year old kids were selected to represent Sioux Falls Little League in the ND/SD District Little League tournaments. The team first competed in the East River Little League Sub District Tournament in Valley Springs, SD. Little League teams from Brandon Valley, Harrisburg, Pierre and Huron were all part of the tournament. Our Sioux Falls Little League team played very well and won this tournament and earned a spot in the ND/SD District Little League Tournament in Rapid City, SD.
Rapid City has a very strong history of Little League baseball and plays host to this tournament every summer. Rapid City Little League teams have advanced to the Little League World Series on 3 different occasions and are tough to beat on their home fields. Our Sioux Falls Little League team definitely had its work cut out for them going into this tournament. There were 4 teams that competed in the ND/SD District Little League Tournament to earn a spot to advance to the Midwest Region Little League Tournament in Indianapolis, IN. This year’s tournament featured 2 Rapid City Little League teams and a talented team from Fargo Little League. Again, Sioux Falls Little League exceeded everyone’s expectations and will now represent Sioux Falls and all the Little League programs in South Dakota and North Dakota at the Midwest Region Little League tournament.
The Midwest Region Little League Tournament is August 6-12 and is a tremendous opportunity for our team to showcase to the entire country the baseball talent that we have in our Sioux Falls community. All the games played at the Midwest Region tournament are televised on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPN3. This team is very excited to use this opportunity to put Sioux Falls youth baseball on the map and start a tradition of excellence for Sioux Falls Little League Baseball. If our team continues to play well and the baseball gods look down upon us we will be very proud to represent Sioux Falls and the entire Midwest Region at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA on August 17-27.
We are asking you to be a part of the team and consider making a tax free contribution to help cover some of the upcoming expenses for our “Boys of Summer” as they continue to embark on this unbelievable journey of year 1 of Sioux Falls Little League Baseball.
