I am used to helping others. Now, for the first time, I need help myself.

My name is Lisa. I am a single mother and have been raising my son on my own for the past 12 years. Since the day he was born, I have carried full responsibility alone – emotionally, organizationally, and financially.

Despite all challenges, I have never chosen the easy path. When my son was just one year old, I began a dual study program (Bachelor). During theory phases, he sometimes had to come with me to lectures.

Today, I look back on more than ten years of professional experience as a passionate social worker.

As a German native I speak Turkish fluently, have acquired work-related Arabic skills, and work daily with people in extremely difficult life situations.

Helping others is not just my profession – it is my calling.

Alongside my work, I published a pedagogical children’s book about children growing up without a present father. Another book about children with an absent mother is currently in progress. Unfortunately, these projects do not provide financial security – but they are deeply important to me, as they give children and their caregivers a voice.

The Shock Just Before Christmas – Our Acute Crisis

Shortly before Christmas, I was suddenly informed that my working hours would be reduced to only 19 hours per week starting in February. For us, this means fear and the imminent collapse of our entire life system:

•	Rent and basic living expenses

•	My son’s school fees (€215 per month)

•	The existence of our small family, including our dog

For years, I have done everything in my power to find solutions on my own. But without financial support, I have now reached my limits.

My Plan B: Education as a Way Out

I refuse to give up. Precisely because I carry responsibility, I have decided to actively pursue a new and more stable path.

I want to begin a Master’s degree in Criminology or Security Management at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR Berlin). This step is not a dream – it is a strategic decision:

•	Long-term professional security

•	Meaningful development of my experience

•	Stability and safety for my son

•	Continued positive impact on society

Unfortunately, financing this program on my own is not possible.

What I Need Support For

My educational opportunity starting in October includes:

•	Tuition fees (€8,900)

•	Specialist literature

•	Technical equipment

•	Travel costs

Fundraising goal: €9,000

Every contribution helps me secure my little family’s future and pursue education despite financial inequality.

At the Limit of What Is Possible

After 12 years of constant struggle, I have reached my breaking point. Without this Master’s degree and your support, we face a free fall.

If you are able to support me – through a donation or by sharing this campaign – it would mean more to me than I can put into words. Every form of help matters.

Transparency is very important to me. On my Instagram page @empowerselfe, I share insights into my work, healing, and humanity.

•	Schulgeld meines Sohnes (215 €/Monat)

•	Existenz unserer kleinen Familie inklusive unseres Hundes

Meine Bildungschance ab Oktober: Studiengebühren (8.900 €), Fachliteratur, technische Ausstattung, Fahrtkosten
