<div>This week, I lost my job without warning. I’ve always worked hard to provide for my kids, but until I find a new job, I honestly do not know how I’m going to cover rent, bills, and basic needs for my kids like food and gas. Being a single parent comes with its own challenges—and now losing my income has made everything so much more overwhelming.

<div>On top of all of this, I’m slowly losing my eyesight, so finding a new job isn’t going to be easy for me with my vision disability. I have Malattia Leventinese (also known as Doyne honeycomb retinal dystrophy-DHRD), which is a rare genetic condition that will eventually cause me to go blind. I’m already visually impaired, but I am considered legally blind with how bad my up-close vision is. Because of this, I cannot work certain jobs that most people can.
