Single mom & young daughter need help

My name is Hazel, and I started this fundraiser for my dear friend, Karen, and her 16 year old daughter, Madison.
In June of 2018, Karen fled an abusive relationship with her husband of 30 years with Madison, who was just 14 at the time. The two were homeless until January of this year. They stayed on friends couches, shelters, and for several months in a small tent. In January of 2020, Karen was able to find employment at a local fast food restaurant within walking distance of a tiny apartment with 270 square feet above a garage. However, in mid March, she was told they would be cutting hours , and she averaged 15-18 hours per week at minimum wage, which is $9.45 where they live. They quickly fell behind in all their bills. Since they had no vehicle, (it was destroyed by vandalism the day they left by Karen's  ex-husband) jobs that were hiring in the first days of covid weren't within walking distance. Finally, the ban on evictions in Michigan was over, and the second week of August, they received their eviction notice. Karen started calling agencies, organizations, charities and churches to seek any help they could provide.
Finally, on August 28th., on their way to an appointment,  Karen and Madison were involved in a serious car accident. Thankfully, Madison wasn't hurt, but Karen sustained serious injuries. Her right hip was shattered, the top of the right femur was damaged, and her right knee hit the car's counsel so hard, it required a debridement that took a large part of the tissue away from the kneecap and side of the knee. Today is Friday, September 25, and Karen is still in the hospital, but will be released on October 5, with a walker, cane, and a wound vac on her knee for at least the next 4-6 months. She and Madison will be going home to their apartment to pack with nowhere to go, no transportation, and no money to procure a place to live.
Please, please would you consider donating whatever you can to this small family of 2? My hope is to raise at least $8,000.00 dollars to get  them into decent living conditions, and an inexpensive car to get back and forth to Drs appointments. Both of these young ladies are caring people who not only go out of their way for other people, but also truly love and take care of each other.
Thank you all for any help you can spare.51479470_1601089880421264_r.jpeg
