It is no surprise the government is shut down and hundreds of thousands of families just like mine are being effected. It is financially and emotionally taking a toll on so many.
My fiance of 6 years is considered “essential”, so he is still going to work with the promise of when he will get back pay no where in sight. He is our sole provider. While we have family that will do everything in their power to help us, not a single person is financially able to help as much as we need.
I will give a little bit of a backstory on our financial situation. We moved over 1,000 miles in June for a promotion my fiancé got within the bureau. This promotion meant more financial stability for our family. The move had to be rushed because I was pregnant, and not a single doctor in the area would take me as a patient if I was too far along. I quit my job and we almost maxed out our credit cards to do so.
We do not live above our means. We are diligent in paying all our bills on time. However, our creditors have not been lienent or compassionate during this very stressful financial situation.
I hate feeling so helpless. I feel so incredibly guilty for asking friends, and total strangers, for help. Each day the shut down continues, the more I worry for my family, and the well being of every single federal employee effected. I know we are one family of so very many people, but if you’re able to help, we are forever grateful. Even a share and a prayer will help tremendously. Thank you.
