Hard working, single father needs help.

It was 7:30pm when I realized my husband Brent hadn't returned home from work. I texted him asking, "When will you be home?" Soon after, I got a call from Brent saying, "I'm at Winco, helping someone out." After another hour had passed, I was starting to get worried. Just as I was about to call Brent to make sure that he was okay, he had called me. He said that he will be home in a bit, and briefly explained to me what he had been doing. After hanging up with him, I couldn't help but have tears in my eyes, and a heavy, but grateful heart. Brent takes the train to work everyday. When he got off the train after his workday, he noticed a man, with his two little children, 4 and 7, sitting on the curb. The man seemed perplexed, and somewhat beside himself. Brent got into the car, and sat there watching to see what they were going to do. He assumed that someone was going to pick them up. Nope. That didn't happen. Instead, the man, who was carrying his daughter's pink backpack, along with his two children in tow, started heading up the hill to the main road. Brent knew something wasn't right, so he pulled up next to them and asked if he could give them a ride somewhere? The man, (Jose), asked Brent if he could take them to his storage unit in Midvale. Brent was more than willing. On the drive there, the man told Brent that he's a single dad, and that they were evicted from their apartment 2 weeks ago; then today while he was at work, he watched his truck getting repossessed. Here he is, on his own, with his two little children, not knowing what he was going to do. When Brent found out that they had nowhere to go, he told the man to let him put his family up for a few nights at a hotel. Brent then took them to the store, and bought them some necessities like bread, p-nut butter, etc, and some goodies. He took them back to the hotel, and told Jose that he would pick them up in the morning, and take Jose and his two children back to his work, and that his wife, Cheryl, will pick up Jose at 9, to take his son to his school, with his daughter in tow. When Brent told me all of this, it was extremely gut wrenching to know the anguish that this man must have been going through. The not knowing what his next move was going to be for he and his family. He told Brent that he will get paid on Friday, and that that will help make things better. But Jose is in a desperate situation. He has worked at the Big O Tires near us for 3 years. Before this he had worked at Big O Tires in West Valley for about 9 years, which means he has been working for Big O Tires for well over 10 yrs. He is an extremely responsible man, and father, and is trying his best to take care of his little family, but he hasn't been able to keep his head above water, and is drowning very quickly. Yet he continues to push forward, doing what he has to do to take care of his family with everything he has in him. I honestly don't know how he hasn't had a nervous breakdown. He also has a unique circumstance that complicates his situation even more. His 7 yr old son can't speak, and the doctors have diagnosed his son with autism. Because of this, he has to go to a school that has special education for his needs. This will give you an idea of what Jose's days are like, from what I have experienced with him today.

*Brent picked up Jose, and 2 children from motel at 6:30 this morning to get Jose to work by 7.
*The children will then stay at work with Jose, up until 9.
*I (Cheryl), then picked Jose and children up from Big O Tires at 9 this morning, to take his son to school in Murray, about 20 minutes away from Big O Tires.
(I asked Jose what his daughter (4yrs) does during the day. He is signing her up for the Boys and Girls Club, but needs to get papers turned in. So we went ahead and took care of that while out, so she can get started. I think she will have school before or after b&g club).
*I took Jose and his daughter back to Big O Tires after dropping his son off and signing up for the Boys and Girls Club. 
*At 4pm, I once again picked Jose and his daughter up from Big O Tires, to go over to the apartment that they used to live in to pick his son up, where the school bus had dropped him off.
*After picking his son up, I then took Jose and his 2 children back to Big O so Jose can finish his work day, and where his children will wait for their dad to finish work for the day at 6:15pm.
*I then went back to Big O to pick this little family up to take them back to the motel.

This is Jose's day. Working hard, while taking care of his family throughout the day, in between working. I have to say, kudos to Big O Tires for being flexible, and understanding to Jose's predicament. 

A couple saw my post about this family on Facebook, and were kind-hearted enough to donate a reliable car to Jose, which we/he are extremely grateful for. I am hoping that we will get enough contributions to help Jose with the first and last month rent, etc., and to also help pay for insurance for the car, a gift card for gasoline for his car, and if there is any extra money, it will be put towards rent, and other necessities. Jose is an amazing, loving, and hardworking father, who would do 'anything' for his children, and could really use a break, if even for a moment. Any amount of money donated would be greatly appreciated, and will truly help, and give some relief to this beautiful little family. God bless you, and thank you!
