Hello friends,
My name is Sarunas Veselka, a 20-year-old basso profundo whose abilities have been adjudicated professionally and casually by many and I have consistently been considered a natural talent. Despite only a year and a half of vocal training, I've been a paid soloist at Rideau Park United Church (Sept 2015-Aug 2016) and Dominion Chalmers United Church (Sept 2016- Now) and have recently been offered a $2000 scholarship after placing first in the first round of the Ottawa Kiwanis Festival Operatic Solo class (ages 20+). This scholarship has been designated for me to go to Italy for a month and play a lead bass role in the COSI Summer Opera Program this summer. This would be a dream.
However, due to financial independence from my parents and family, I am unable to pay the remaining $7000 without seriously harming my quality of life and chances of ever attending school again. Some may perceive pay-to-play opera schools as redudant and a waste of money but, in reality, they are very necessary for artist exposure and resume building. I have attached my live performance of "Ol' Man River" at the top of this page to ensure to you that this is an investment worth making. This opportunity is not one that I can pursue on my own and I am postive that it would be a life-changing one for me. Any amount of money would help me immensely :)
