Sine's Immigration Advocacy Fund

Donation protected
Sine Konate fell ill to what he self described as a flu and passed away at the age of 33 on Friday 6/24/2022, in his native country Guinea-Conakry. Sine had been living in Guinea the past 1.5 years after being deported in 2020 because of unfair, discriminatory immigration policies by former President Donald Trump. Although Guinea was his native country, Sine lived in NYC, his new home, since the early 90’s at the age of 2. A few months after he was deported, Sine’s mother, who lived in the US, passed away. By this time Sine had not seen his (now) deceased mother in almost one year. Sine could not mourn and participate in his mother’s funeral with his family and NYC community. It was God’s will that Sine passed at such a young age. But had he been in the US where there is better healthcare, and with his family, Sine probably would’ve had a better chance of recovering from his illness.

To honor Sine’s legacy, and to highlight the immigration injustice done to him, “Sine’s Immigration Advocacy Fund'' will educate and serve other immigrants in New York who have immigration fears and may be silently suffering, as Sine was. Sine’s Immigration Advocacy Fund will offer free educational programs, including a US Citizenship civics test prep, Immigration Know Your Rights workshops, and free immigration lawyer consultation.
