the relocation of Simply Zen!

My name is Honey Chang.  For the past nine years I’ve had the great fortune to operate Simply Zen on Locke Street South in Hamilton. 

True to my appreciation of all things spiritual and of the Earth, my store sells items that enhance meditation, and provide a serene, warm and nurturing environment.  It is filled with crystals, incense, natural home and hygiene products, eco-friendly clothing, jewelry, handbags and décor items, both local and imported.  

I tell people my customers are the best people I know, and I mean it.   They have supported me throughout my journey and introduced my wares to their friends and family.

Due to sudden and unforeseen circumstances, I have had to embrace leaving my current store location and am now in the throes of an abrupt move dated August 1st.  The new owners of my current building decided not to renew my lease, and made plans to replace my store with a spa.

I am happy to have found another space, and will be the proud new tenant at 183 Ottawa Street North.  I’m excitedly nervous, but ready for a new home and the wonderful experiences and friendships I know it’ll bring.  However, this means unanticipated expenses in a short time frame.  I need help to make it happen as my store is the sole income for me and my young daughter, Jordan.

A total of $8,000 will allow me to incur the costs of lost business due to closure during my move, and for renovations in the new location.  It will also provide me with first and last month’s rent without having to put my business in deeper debt. 

I have unwavering gratitude and humility for all of the people who have helped me keep my doors open for nine beautiful years on Locke Street.  I’ll miss it deeply.  Years of memories and new relationships with Hamilton’s best people were created there.  I hope you’ll visit me at my new location, and look forward to welcoming you to the new home of Simply Zen.
