Coach Mike asked the boys why playing soccer is important to them, as well as their thoughts on the fundraiser.  We included a handful of their responses below:


What do I love about soccer?
-- "I love to work as a team in soccer.  I also like the quickness and athleticism of the game"
-- "I get to make great relationships with kids that I wouldn’t of known if it wasn’t for soccer."
-- "The chance to spend a lot of time with my friends that I made through soccer and the fun of competing at a very high level."

What has soccer taught be off the field?
-- "Never give up when times are hard, to enjoy the wins and learn from the losses."
-- "Not everything is going to go your way but you still need to try."
-- "Keep an open mindset, in a game or just anywhere, in approaching difficult tasks"

Why should someone sponsor me in a race to support my soccer team?
-- "This is a nice team filled nice kids and everyone should get a chance to play even if they can't afford it."
-- "Imagine if your whole team was going to a tournament and you could not go. That’s what someone on our team feels like.  Our team is running a mile and a half for him, all you have to do is donate."
