To all our friends and family,
Over the past week we have noticed some odd symptoms with our little man and found out on last Wednesday from blood tests that he did indeed have Cancer. Typically, crankiness and odd behavior have pointed to teeth coming in, but this time around we noticed something was off. We decided to have bloodwork done and immediately found out the results. We rushed Simon to CT Children's Medical Center and got him into the ICU where surgery was performed to start the chemotherapy process. We have been through the ringer over the past few days, but since we have begun chemotherapy his cancerous white blood cell numbers are dropping and there have been major signs that point to a solid road to recovery.
In this day in age as connected as we are online to our friends close to home and around the country, we thought it best to inform everyone publicly on the internet in hopes of drumming up prayers and support.
It's amazing how quickly our lives have suddenly changed. Friends and family have stepped up in ways we couldn't have even imagined, and we are so grateful. We remain positive and hopeful though, that our amazing gift of a son will come out of this ordeal strong and healthy.
For those of you that have them, hug your kids a little tighter tonight. Be good to each other, and please keep our little family in your hearts and minds. We will attempt to keep you all posted thought this trying process.
