Simon Gelber Memorial Fund

Donation protected
Simon Henry Gelber passed away on 1st January 2020. His sudden loss was a shock to family and friends alike.

He was the backbone of Old Haberdashers' Cricket Club, across many generations, and his passing leaves a huge hole in our club and the local cricket community.

Simon was fundamental in creating experiences which are cherished by many, including the 1997-1998 Zimbabwe tour, endless Devon tours and of course, the infamous club annual dinner at Lord's. A selfless individual who created opportunities for others to foster memories and develop friendships that last a life time.

His spirit will live on in the actions of our club and the individuals he mentored.

We have created this memorial fund to enable Old Habs Cricket Club to commemorate the life of a club stalwart and absolute gentleman. We hope to use this fund  to donate a memorial bench at Kilmington Cricket Club, a Devon tour fixture Simon cherished and inevitably captained year on year.  Our second intention is to use this fund to plant a memorial tree  in Simon's name on the school 1st XI square on Old Boys Day.

A donation, of any kind, is truly appreciated.
