The Silver Stallion storefront is located in the old, urban downtown Gallup, NM; it's at ground-zero Gallup.

Our name, Silver Stallion, comes from an old, classic sign adopted from Gallup Arts. Silver Stallion was once a bar and package liquor sale operation that eventually shut-down because of a sequence of illegal sales to minors and the already-intoxicated. The Silver Stallion sign has become an icon for the region; Gallup, and many reservation border towns like it, are notorious for the exploitation of alcoholism.

So, why Silver Stallion? you might ask. The sign now presides at its new downtown location, looming over the outdoor courtyard and hopefully taking a look down on what is a better example of human behavior, community development and positive activity.

The Silver Stallion Bicycle & Coffee Works Nonprofit seeks to establish a community bicycle “recyclery” bike shop and specialty coffee organization providing bicycle repair education programs for youth and barista apprenticeships for youth adults. The new Silver Stallion will provide professional service and sales in the bicycle and coffee related industries to better meet the needs of Gallup and the surrounding area. We hope to foster positive, social community in-and-around the practice of workplace professionalism and skill-building for both youth and young adults moving forward into their future.

Silver Stallion Bicycle & Coffee Works, Inc. Nonprofit is currently seeking 501(c)(3) status. Upon the reception of our our application and (c)(3) status,  ALL DONATIONS made to since June 28, 2018 (the date of it's inception) are TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
