Silas's Fight against Leukemia

Our son Silas was recently diagnosed with childhood cancer, specifically, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). We were devastated as we have a bright, energetic and happy son who is being slowly eaten from the inside by cancer.
We are at Primary Children's Hospital's oncology unit in Salt Lake City and we have faith in the knowledge, experience, and professionalism of the doctors and staff here and we are confident that the prognosis will be good. While there will be some expenses associated, we already have the required support and resources to make sure Silas is taken care of.
We have set up this GoFundMe for family and friends who still want a way to help and contribute to the fight. Silas has a chance to beat this horrific disease because of the research that was done in the past We want to pay that forward to the families of the future who have to endure the news that their child has cancer. Our plan is for the money raised through this funds drive will go towards the Children's Oncology group foundation for continued childhood cancer treatment research.
The Children's Oncology group is comprised of the world's largest organization devoted to research exclusively for childhood and adolescent cancer. The research they have done within the past 20 years has given us a great amount of hope that this devastating disease will not be the death of our child.
Our son got the best possible diagnosis in terms of childhood cancer, but many other's prognoses are not as good. Walking the halls of the childrens cancer and seeing the many children fighting this fight has been a sobering experience. We feel that this small token may be of some help to them and all the children that follow Silas.
