Hi,

My name is Sigrid. I'm a Siberian Husky who was rescued by the RSPCA and very soon re-homed with amazing humans, Lisa, Steve & Samisa. It wasn't very nice where I used to live, but where I am now is wonderful.

I am growing quickly and enjoying being cared for and loved by my new family.

Being a rescue dog oftens means there is a complicated and not very nice background, in my case it isn't clear who my father is. It is suspected that it's actually a brother, which is why myself and my siblings all have a mandibular distoclusion, otherwise known as an overbite.

My overbite is quite significant causing a lot of pain, especially as my lower canine teeth are digging into the roof of my mouth. My incisors don't align and this makes picking up food hard and drinking water problematic too, as I usually dribble more water than I drink.

My new mum and dad are taking me to see a specialist doggie dentist, to see what can be done as if not treated it can result in trauma to the roof of my mouth which can cause ulcers and/or oronasal fistulas. They don't sound very nice.

As this is an existing condition it isn't covered by insurance, so it's going to potentially cost alot of pennies. I feel bad that my new family took me in, rescued me and have given me so much love, but now they face the prospect of having to find thousands of pounds to pay for any treatment.

100% of the raised funds will go towards covering the dental fees, but if there was any remaining I want this to be donated to the RSPCA, especially the branch in Warrington who rescued me, my siblings and my mum. Without the amazing people at the RSPCA, I don't know where I would be right now.
