SIGHT FOR TASHAY
My sister is always a bunch of joy. She puts a smile on the face of everyone she comes in contact with. Her smile is VERY contagious. However, on Thursday, February 25, 2021 she complained about seeing bubbles in her eyes so, she went to see her ophthalmologist and that is when it was discovered that she has several retinal tears. She was then referred to another facility for retinopexy at the very same time of discovery and it was performed. About a week later she started complaining about the same so she went back to her ophthalmologist and RVA 20/200, LVA light perception pinhole right 20/50 was detected upon presentation. My sister also has a history of left eye old retinal detachment. On March 26, 2021 she was sent to the University Hospital of the West Indies for an emergency surgery to be done. On Saturday, April 3, 2021 a buckle surgery was performed and a Right Cryotherapy, encircling band and C3 , F8 was used for the progress and enhancement of her vision. However, after three weeks into the recovery process she woke up one morning and started complaining about not being able to see anything at all as she was glimpsing before and was told by her doctor that subsequently her retina has been re-detached. So, as it is now she is currently blind. We have exhausted all our options in Jamaica as they have told us, that there is nothing else that they can do to help her regain her sight, as the only machine that could be used to correct such problem is out of use. She is now in need of another surgery therefore, we have to stepped out and seek medical help from overseas. Dr Patel at Pinnacle Retina, PLLC in Greensboro has offered to help. However, the cost of the surgery is estimated at $20,000USD. Our family has already depleted our cash with the first surgery and are left with no other choice but to seek help so that Tashay can see again. PLEASE donate to help my sister see again. Do so with a smile, we would love for her to keep smiling.
