Sierra Leone Mudslide Relief Fund

We are the Republic of Sierra Leone's diplomatic mission to the United States (Embassy of Sierra Leone) and we are located 1701 19th Street Northwest, Washington D.C., DC 20[phone redacted]. The current ambassador is H.E. Bockari Kortu Stevens

It is with great sadness that I must inform you that continuous rain on the night of August 13th, 2017 has resulted in massive flooding and mudslide in many parts of the Western Area in Sierra Leone. This flooding and mudslide have devastated many communities, destroyed settlements and brought deaths and severe injuries to many people. The total number of people affected is still been compiled.

The Government of Sierra Leone has taken immediate steps to minimize the suffering of those affected and continues to provide emergency assistance and support to the displayed and injured.

As a response to this national disaster, the Embassy of Sierra Leone in Washington DC, USA is encouraging all Sierra Leoneans, Friends of Sierra Leone, and the international non-profit community to come together and help and the victims of this disaster. Funds received will be forwarded to the Government of Sierra Leone in Freetown to help the victims.
