Freetown Flood Victim Fund

My name is Jessica O'Hara and I am a fourth year Global Health and Social Medicine Student at King's College London.  I am from England and will be travelling to Freetown in two weeks.

There  has been a mudslide that has swept through Freetown, Sierra Leone (In West Africa) killing an estimated 312 people. Relatives have been left digging in the mud for the bodies of their loved ones and an estimated 2000 people are now homeless. As part of my university dissertation, I am scheduled to travel to Freetown on Sept 5th to conduct a study into the aftermath of the Ebola crisis. We will be there for a month and having heard the terrible news today, I have set up this page to raise funds for those who have been affected by the mudslide. The poorest have been hit the hardest and many people have lost the little that they had. We will use the funds for emergency relief- providing meals, clothing and basic medical supplies to those who have been affected by the disaster. If enough is raised- we will look towards helping the victims find long term housing solutions. A little goes a long way. I will be setting up a YouTube page to document the progress of this cause.

Every pound of the money raised will be used to help the people who have been hit the hardest by the disaster in providing-

-basic healthcare supplies
-temporary accommodation

Thank you you so much for your support
