Sierra family flood relief

Donation protected
Good day folks,

Our family was forcibly removed from our home this Tuesday when flood waters from Hurricane Harvey quickly began to pour into our first floor apartment. We grabbed a few changes of clothing and toiletries and fled to a neighbor's apartment on higher ground. A couple hours later, with the water still on the rise, a local fire Marshall came into the complex and suggested that we leave before the waters got higher. So we heeded his advice, leaving everything we own to be taken away by the quickly rising water.

We stood in near chest deep water waiting for rescue, which arrived shortly thereafter. They took Kori and Jacob first and I took a different boat later on.

The entire area was completely submerged. Everybody on the ground floors likely lost everything they own. The cars on the curb and parking lot were taking so muh water that their electrical systems were flickering uncontrollably, ours among them. As we approached the intersection the boat began to drag so a handful of us got out and pushed the boat to where the coast guard and police were helping people to dry land.

I had learned via text that my family had been taken to a local Home Depot by the coast guard. Thanks to the kindness of a friend of a friend we were reunited and taken to an apartment of my wife's friend where we are currently residing.

Our friends know that I was extremely hesitant to create a campaign but due to the overwhelming requests of friends and family I've set this page up in order to help get us our family's life back on track.

Thank you for reading.
