Laura’s mother has always been a kind and caring person, but life changed dramatically when Laura’s father passed away in March 2025. Since then, Laura’s mother has faced a mountain of bills and new responsibilities that she’s never had to handle before. On top of the emotional toll of losing her husband, she’s now struggling to keep up with rent and gas bills, and the financial pressure is causing her frustration and confusion at a time when she most needs peace to grieve.

 One of the biggest challenges Laura’s mother faces is managing her diabetes. She needs an insulin pump and supplies, but her insurance only covers part of the cost. The pump would make a huge difference in her daily life, administering insulin automatically so she doesn’t have to worry about remembering shots or monitoring her sugar as closely. Along with the pump, she needs insulin and Libre 3 monitor cartridges to get started. These medical expenses, combined with overdue bills, have created a burden that’s simply too much for Laura and her siblings to carry alone.
