Hello! Thank you for your interest in helping the street dogs of Siargao Island, Philippines. This page is dedicated to raising awareness & funds in order to sponsor dogs on the island of Siargao.
My name is Anne Marie, in August of 2018 I traveled to the Island of Siargao on a non-for-profit mission to volunteer for one of the first spay and neuter clinics on the island. I feel in love with everything about this magical place; the kindness of each and every person I met, the beautiful culture, the endless rows of palm trees, the crystal clear blue waters & of course the puppies, all the puppies.
Being a small island, there is a real opportunity to make a difference. These funds will go to various needs of the dogs including: supporting future spay & neuter clinics on the island, purchasing supplies needed for the overall health of dogs on the island (mange & rabies shots, flea & tick medicine, etc.) as well as sponsoring abandoned puppies, found by our organization that are in need of homes.
During the clinic I assisted in recovery of the dogs & cats after their surgery, as well as administering antibiotic & rabies shots to the animals. On my first trip, I met an incredible family that brought multiple dogs from their compound to our vets for surgery. Their live-in female dog has just given birth to her 6th litter of three puppies. I had the opportunity to meet the puppies and instantly fell in love with one, my little Buko ("coconut" in Tagalog) pictured above.
With the help of my magnificent island friend Alex (creator of IG @puppypuddlesiargao) and the amazing vet on the island, Rachelle - we arranged to bring Buko and his two sisters (Tala "bright star" & Reyna "queen") home to America.
This was the first adoption EVER from the island of Siargao to America, and it was quite the journey. You can follow our adventure on Instagram @bukosbigadventure
THANK YOU for all your love and support in this heartfelt passion project of mine. Each and every pup is grateful for your donations and will live a happy healthy life on the beautiful island of Siargao thanks to Y-O-U.
