The devastation of the fires have affected many and I could not sit back and do nothing when my dear friend's lost everything. The picture is what is left of their home. Imagine having to leave it all behind and get your family to safety and having nowhere to go?
The home was a rental and there was no insurance so the only thing they have is each other. Well almost!
Sian has recently married the love of her life Alessandro who had to leave the very next day after they said "I do" last month to go back to England. The plan was for them to reunite for Christmas and start their lives together.
This is a massive set back for this beautiful couple who never dreamt they would face such devastation that would throw the curve ball and change their direction. They are both so grateful to have the children and animals safe. Gratitude is what this couple have in abundance. They are the first to offer support and guidance to people in need without question.
Now I am seeking the support of the community to rally behind making this families 2019 one to remember. They will never forget losing everything they had and with your support they will be never forget the love of community when in times of crisis.
Sian has been through more than anyone I know and seeing her so happy and in love as a newly wed is everything she deserves to receive. A survivor of domestic violence in the past where she is lucky to be alive, this woman has a heart of gold. Right now as I write this Sian is out there helping others to safety in the fires and keeping the animals safe in a paddock sleeping in her car.
I wish nothing more than to bring Alessandro home to her so she is not going through this devastation alone.
Let's make sure Alessandro and Sian can be together for Christmas in a home filled with furniture celebrating Christmas exactly as they had planned before this bushfire burned their dreams to the ground
I am requesting $20,000 for new furniture, clothing and the bond for a new rental property
Plus the airfare to get Allesandro home as soon as possible so he can be here to support his family. I know I would want my husband with me at a time like this wouldn't you?
